Commonly asked questions about the Together Let Us Go Forth-Juntos Sigamos Adelante Campaign

Question: What is the difference between the Together Campaign and the annual Charity Development Appeal (CDA)?

Answer: Every diocese in the United States has their own annual Bishop's Appeal to fund ongoing ministries throughout their diocese. Each diocese does this independently. Our annual campaign is called the CDA (Charity and Development Appeal). We announce it every year in early February.

The Together Campaign is a multi year campaign (5yrs) for specific large capital projects. The 7 large projects in this Campaign include: Catholic Newman Centers in 3 colleges, Seminarian support, updates for some Catholic schools and 2 new Catholic schools: St. John Paul II High School in West Phoenix and Our Lady of the Lake K-8 school in Lake Havasu City. The last time our diocese embarked on a multi year campaign was over 20 years ago when we raised over $30 million for new Catholic schools.

Question: Why is the Together campaign asking us to consider a 5-year pledge?

Answer: For most parishioners here at Our Lady of the Lake, making a "pledge over time" on a monthly payment plan is easier: It allows for households to be a little bit more generous by budgeting for the payments.

Question: I am an 82 year old senior citizen on a fixed income and I don't know if I can afford a pledge, plus I might not be alive in 5 years. What are my options?

Answer: This is a common question, with a simple answer: You have the option of making a one-time gift. You can also make a legacy gift to the campaign through your Will or Trust by asking your lawyer to prepare a codicil to your current Will or Trust, naming Our Lady of the Lake, Together Campaign, as the beneficiary. Since we are doing 2 building projects - a K-8 school and a Pavilion - you will be helping both future students and future parishioners through your bequest. Online pledges: visit TogetherGoForth.org and click "Donate." To give securely and directly, be sure to select "Our Lady of the Lake Parish, LLC" to ensure your pledge helps our parish.
